Lancaster Town Justice. Presiding Justice over criminal, vehicle and traffic, landlord/tenant, and small claim civil matters.

Anthony J. Cervi, Attorney at Law, Buffalo, New York, March 2004 – Present
Sole Practitioner. Established, and currently manage and operate sole practitioner law firm. Responsible for all facets of small legal business, handling all client matters and day to day operations. Representing clients in: criminal; civil/commercial litigation; matrimonial/family law; corporations and estate planning.

Maryvale Central School System, Cheektowaga, New York, June 2003- June 2006
Board of Education Trustee. Elected as School Board Member to review public policy decisions and enact regulations for school system.

Chelus, Herdzik, Speyer, Monte & Pajak, Buffalo, New York, January 2002- March 2004
Associate. Represented the firm’s clients and personal clients in various civil litigation matters, specializing in insurance defense litigation and personal injury cases. Also handled custody/visitation matters as well as criminal misdemeanor trial work.

Creighton University Legal Clinic, Omaha, Nebraska, January 2001- May 2001
Law Clerk. Represented low-income clients in a variety of civil matters, including: landlord tenant; matrimonial and school administrative law. Conducted interviews, prepared pleadings, conducted depositions and represented clients in all aspects of civil litigation. Awarded the Mara Skrupa award for excellence in clinical legal education for the 2000-2001 academic school year.

Law Clerk. Conducted research, analyzed legal issues and drafted legal memorandums covering various areas of the firm’s practice. Prepared motions, petitions and trial briefs for pending litigation. Conducted settlement negotiations, argued motions and conducted depositions under the Senior Certification Rule of the Nebraska Supreme Court.

Internship. Field work to include; pretrial investigation, pretrial preparation, and research on telemarketing fraud. Conducted scholarly research on the disparity between state and federal sentencing guidelines.

Squad Team Leader. Responsible for the training and management of team members in daily operations. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal for outstanding leadership and accomplishments while serving as a squad team leader with D Co. 2/5 Cav.

U.S. Army, 3rd Armored Division, Gelnhausen, Germany, August 1990 – September 1991
Infantryman. Served as an m-60 gunner on an infantry fire team with A Co 4/18th Infantry in Southwest Asia in support of Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in combat.
